Best edition in 20 years of existence
The best edition ever. With these four words we can briefly but powerfully describe the 11th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk, which concluded on Friday evening 12 May. Exactly 20 years after this event celebrated its first appearance in the halls of Kortrijk Xpo, the 292 exhibitors, the concept event with this year's theme 'Super Skin' and the various peripheral events and seminars attracted more visitors than ever to the familiar halls 4 and 5.
With a total of 6,482 visitors over both days, the organiser Kortrijk Xpo sets a new record compared to the previous record year 2021. The increase was entirely due to the first day's visit, it was noticeable how the attending professionals adjusted their visiting behaviour. Literally from the moment the doors opened at 10 a.m., people were already waiting to enter and throughout the day, the (interior) architects, specifiers, project developers and all other members from the specifying target group continued to flow steadily and evenly through both halls.
"Both days are becoming equally important, which is a particularly nice observation," concludes exhibition manager Anne-Laure Van de Ginste. "The first day shows an increase, while the second scores almost exactly the same numbers as the same day in 2021. It provides us with confirmation that our visitor understands the organisational formula perfectly. People come here to be inspired, see nothing but innovations and network in a unique concept, in the minimalist stands of equal size designed by the interior design collective C4."
Nathalie Sandra, director of ARCHITECT@WORK, can only endorse Anne-Laure Van de Ginste's enthusiastic response: "This is the ideal opportunity for face-to-face contact, to network and do business," she responds. "It is particularly pleasing that not only the architect, but the entire market has embraced our concept even more than before."
Upcoming appointments
The next European appointment with ARCHITECT@WORK will take place on 24 and 25 May in Marseille (Parc Chanot). Several other European editions will follow later this year, with ARCHITECT@WORK Amsterdam on 27 and 28 September - with for the first time a switch from the familiar Rotterdam for an edition in Amsterdam, which will take place biennially - being the most prominent. The 12th edition in Kortrijk city is scheduled for 15 and 16 May 2025.
