11th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk (11-12 May 2023) breaks all records

The best edition ever. With these four words we can briefly but powerfully describe the 11th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk, which concluded on Friday evening 12 May. Exactly 20 years after this event celebrated its first appearance in the halls of Kortrijk Xpo, the 292 exhibitors, the concept event with this year's theme 'Super Skin' and the various peripheral events and seminars attracted more visitors than ever to the familiar halls 4 and 5.

The very last details for the next edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk are on point. On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 May, the 11th edition of this event has a lot to offer. Under the theme 'Super Skin', visitors will be introduced to a fascinating, multifaceted and topical theme.

On the 11th and 12th of May ARCHITECT@WORK will be reopening its doors at Kortrijk Xpo. In 2003, the thriving story of this unique, international sector event began right there. Here we are 20 years later, the edition in Kortrijk is now in its 11th edition. With the theme 'Super Skin', a fascinating, multifaceted theme this year's event is once again going to be exciting and inspirational.

The new theme for the next edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk (Thursday 11 and Friday 12 May 2023) is set. After careful consideration with the committee, the next Belgian edition of the event will run under the header 'Super Skin'.

The preparations for the next edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk have officially started. ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk returns to its normal organizational month and will take place on 11 and 12 of May 2023. The conclusion after ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk in 2021 could not be clearer, as all expectations of this tenth anniversary edition were exceeded! The figures showed that even slightly more visitors showed up than the previous, pre-corona edition (which already set a record). It proved how much people yearn for renewed face-to-face contact and how the specifier needs much more than just online information.

First edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Brussels will be Future-Proof

Every ARCHITECT@WORK is organised under a predetermined theme and this will be no difference for the very first edition of the event in Brussels, which will take place two years later than originally planned due to the pandemic. On the 1^st and 2^nd of June 2022 in Tour & Taxis the theme for the visiting (interior) architects will be 'Future-Proof'.

The figures show that, certainly on the first day, even slightly more visitors showed up than at the previous, pre-corona edition (which already set a record) and that it was also particularly busy on Friday. It proves how much people were yearning for renewed face-to-face contact and how the prescriber needs much more than just online information.

This means that we can officially confirm that the 10th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK Kortrijk will take place on the 21st and 22nd October, 2021.

ARCHITECT@WORK is organized in 15 countries and 30 cities. Given our international growth, the next logical step is to put the European capital on our A@W map. ARCHITECT@WORK will be present at the Tour & Taxis venue every second year starting from 2020.

100th edition of ARCHITECT@WORK in Kortrijk breaks all records

On Thursday 9 and Friday 10 May a party was held in Kortrijk Xpo. At that time, the hundredth edition of this total concept, which not only covers Europe, but even beyond, took place in its hometown of Kortrijk.
People were eagerly awaiting what this party edition would bring, but the end result exceeded even the wildest expectations. Especially during the first day a phenomenal increase was recorded: +17.5% compared to the previous edition in Kortrijk two years ago.
With a similar result on Friday as in 2017. This means that 6,017 unique visitors were clocked in, setting an 'all time' record.

In memoriam: Chris Vantornout

We regret to inform you that Chris Vantornout, managing director of Lineos, the Ghent based design practice, passed away last weekend. Chris was closely involved in many of our editions and was part of Creative Fo(u)r, a group of four interior designers that developed the stand concept for ARCHITECT@WORK.

Unfortunately we have to say farewell to Chris, who became a close friend to everyone on our team over the years, too early. We would hereby like to express our condolences to Chris’s wife, children, family and friends. Rest in peace, Chris, and thank you for the many beautiful moments together.
